fun gifts

Here's a fun gift....Butternut Squash Soup in a jar.

Make some soup. Pour it in a canning jar. Put the lid on. Make a simple tag (this tag uses Crate Paper scraps from my Christmas cards and leftover Thickers I had in my stash). Type up the recipe. Grab a handful of croutons and toss them in a cello bag.  Tie it all together with a buch of raffia. Viola. Perfect gift!

I actually used these as teacher gifts...but they could also be last minute neighbor gifts or hostess gifts or just something fun under the tree.

Or instead of a soup...how about a sugar scrub?

Or Mackenzie did a fun wrapping idea for movie tickets...way cuter than a little envelope!

p.s. This recipe was developed by my hubby and we worked together to get it done. I'm the sous chef around here...he's the executive chef putting the final flavor touches on everything. Yum.  We had actually made a huge crock pot of it for a teacher appreciation luncheon during conference week and it was a huge hit. We had a lot of requests for the recipe so I thought that would be a fun gift. Another hit!

Here's the recipe...
